Fonderia Fendi, Conie Vallese

Created for Design Miami/ 2025 as part of FENDI’s centennial celebrations, “Fonderia Fendi” is a collectible design project conceived by designer and artist Conie Vallese and curated by Dan Thawley. The project brought together a selection of Italian ateliers and manufacturers — including Officine Saffi Lab, Fonderia Battaglia, cc-tapis, and Barovier & Toso — in a dialogue between collectible design and craftsmanship. Within the exhibition, Officine Saffi Lab developed a series of bespoke ceramic elements, translating Vallese’s organic and romantic language into sculptural architectural surfaces. Working closely on the development of embossed ceramic tiles and hand-sculpted details, Officine Saffi Lab produced cube tables and ceramic components characterized by layered textures, floral reliefs, and soft glazed finishes inspired by FENDI’s pastel palette. Through extensive material research and craftsmanship, the studio explored the expressive potential of ceramics, balancing tactile richness, irregularity, and architectural presence.
