Finestra su mia Madre, Dsigninc, Milano

“Finestra su mia madre” is a bespoke ceramic fireplace cladding created for Dsigninc Milano. Conceived as an architectural surface, the project explores the relationship between memory, material, and domestic space through a sculptural ceramic intervention. Handcrafted in stoneware and finished with bespoke glazes developed by Officine Saffi Lab, the cladding transforms the fireplace into a tactile and narrative presence within the interior. Its composition evokes an abstracted landscape inspired by the Gulf of Naples, where layered surfaces, tonal variations, and shifting textures recall geological formations, reflections of water, and volcanic matter. The result is an intimate and atmospheric work, resonating with the emotional dimension suggested by the title, “Finestra su mia madre” (“Window onto My Mother”).
